Journey to our Dream Home Pt. 1
A casual girls' night out took an unexpected turn when I locked eyes with someone I hadn’t seen since high school—and let’s just say, he had my full attention.
The next morning, he messaged me, casually asking to meet up. I joked and said “no” (because, honestly, the connection scared me more than I wanted to admit). But as they say—when you know, you know. Fast forward, and here we are: married, two kids later, and writing the next chapters of our story together.
We knew from the moment we reconnected in person that we had found The One. We were married shortly after in a beautiful mountain-side venue a fewm days before Christmas. The ceremony was officiated by his father and we had a very small reception and guest list. It was perfect.
- Now for the home -
Jordon found our first home on Redfin, and from the moment we saw it, we knew it was the one. Tucked into a quiet suburb north of downtown Denver, he took the lead on the purchase and we moved in just before the holidays, getting everything in place.
At the time, I was living in my apartment in Denver’s Highlands neighborhood—an experience I had truly cherished. Moving into what I now affectionately call The Boonies was a shift, but one that marked the start of a new chapter.
In the past few years, I’ve discovered a real passion for upcycling wood furniture—giving new life to forgotten pieces and making them my own. About 75% of the larger furniture in our home has a story beyond the showroom floor. Aside from our master bed frame and formal dining table—the only two pieces we actually bought together—everything else came from our past apartments or was carefully sourced through secondhand shops and online resale listings. There’s something satisfying about curating a space with character, history, and a little creative ingenuity.
